Birthplace: Iybraesil
Gender: Female
Race: Elvish, possible Fae blood
Age: 45
Affiliation: None.
Personality: Seemingly reserved, Lindariel keeps to herself and does not reveal much about her history or her nature. She can come off as cold and aloof upon first meeting, and prefers to keep all associates at an arm's length. Although a woman of great emotion and passion, she has learned with time to keep these things hidden beneath the surface and releases her true thoughts only in a journal she always carries about on her person. Secretive, she has mastered the art of blending into the background and prefers not to stand out or be noticed, and as such has become a master of deception, though this is not a trait she takes great pride in. She is dedicated only to herself, and takes things seriously and to heart. She can be on the sensitive side and is easily wounded by harsh words, but again, is not likely to show that she is hurt or even that she cares. She is a woman of few words and a seemingly depthless amount of patience.
Physical Description: Lindariel is, as are most elves, tall and lean, almost willowly. Standing at nearly 6 feet, she is as graceful and light on her feet as any of her kind. Her hair is naturally straight and a deep, rich brown, a stark contrast to her pale skin and wide, round eyes. Though she carries the sharp, angular features associated with Elves, on her it takes a softer note, a trait that seems to belong to her family alone. She dresses in modest clothing, and carries a quiver and a bow with her at all times.
History: Lindariel was born into a long existing Elvish family of fairly good standing among the community. She grew up a happy child, with very little to worry about for the first two decades of her life. However, as time went on, she began to learn the secrets her family kept hidden away, the one that lended them their strange looks and earned the whispers of other long lived families.
Lindariel's family is rumored to have the blood of the Fae in their veins. It has never been confirmed, but there is a story passed through hushed lips of an ancestor several generations back who betrayed her husband to sleep with one of the Fairy Folk of deep within the wood. It is said that her child was of half fairy blood, and that it became a stain upon the family name. Ever since this incident, a child will occassionally be born into the family that shows unique powers generally associated with the Fae. These powers are written off as The Curse, and the children are sent away, but the whispers remain that the High Magic is born not simply of the curse, but of their tainted bloodline. For Elves, pride is a large ordeal, and impure bloodlines are seen as a thing to be looked down upon, as is the idea of a wife cheating on her husband. To make matters worse, the Elder, more powerful Fae of the Deep Wood are many times likened to the Daemon, although they are in reality only Nature Spirits. Still, the stigma sticks, and so Lindariel's family works very hard to deny the claims of their ancestor's betrayel.
Much to the chagrin of Lindariel's family, she eventually began to show signs of unusual abilities at a young age. It began as simple things, like healing small wounds on injured animals or making an object appear slightly different than it really was. Her family chose to ignore it, hoping it would pass, but when Lindariel healed a friend's bloody knee after they'd tripped and word got out, it became impossible to continue ignoring it. Rather than admitting that their child had The Curse or owning up to the Fae blood in their veins, her parents chose to sweep the incident under the rug. Lindariel was told that her abilities were a thing of shame to her family, and she was forced to hide them. She did her best, but as time went on, incidents continued to occur that made it impossible to continue concealing who and what she was. Just before she turned 40, she was exiled from her village for having 'The Curse'. To this day, she is not sure whether she truly has the curse or if it is the product of something more dark in her family tree, but it makes little difference: the outcome has been the same. She wanders now, ashamed of her abilities and refusing to use them whenever possible, denying herself to anyone whom might ask.
Unlike most bearers of the Curse, she has made no efforts to become more gifted and adept with her powers. Instead, she hides them away and searches for a cure or a way to completely hide it. She has secluded herself to a life of celibacy, refusing intimate connections, a lover, or a family, out of fear of passing her misery on to a child.
