Name: Farrin Wellesley
Birthplace: Aborinus, Eudox Prasmin
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 17
Affiliation: Prasmin Army
Personality: A young man of low birth, Farrin has a commoner's sense of honesty and humility, and he judges others by their actions rather than their words. Despite his humility, Farrin is an ambitious man, and he sees things such as his common blood as obstacles to be overcome rather than limiting factors. Whatever he does, whether it be soldiering or simply whittling in his free time, he is driven to put his all into it, determined to do the best he can at any given task.
Physical Description: Farrin is slightly taller than average, with a lean and muscular build. He has an angular and tanned face framed by shaggy black hair. His body is dotted with a number of scars acquired over his time in the military. He rarely travels without his weapons, a standard flintlock musket and a heavy military sword.
History: Born in Aborinus, shadowed by the floating city above, Farrin was the fourth child of six. Rarely given attention, he was expected to begin work in the Undertown's factories as soon as he was able, to help provide for his large but poor family. Finding the factory work grueling and limiting, he instead sought to join Prasmin's army, a much more dangerous but potentially more rewarding job.
The army, its ranks composed mostly of the dregs of Prasmin's society, was ill-trained and barely equipped. The officers were the third and fourth sons of nobles, the men who couldn't make the cut as sky knights or navy officers, and little was expected of any of the men who served in the army. They were expendable, sent to fight and die to the orcs in Tordek to claim the land's resources.
Farrin proved himself to be a cut above the rest, consistently displaying skill and bravery far above his fellows. After only a year he was offered the rank of lieutenant, a rare occurance for those who began in the ranks. Shortly after his promotion, however, his platoon was attacked by a small force of Daemons, and he realized that he was Cursed, and that was part of the reason for his extraordinary success.
He revealed this to those in command and asked to be removed from service on half-pay, a request that was quickly granted. With his small savings he purchased some surplus equipment and left Eudox Prasmin, traveling across the sea to the kingdom of Brunwall. In Charlemagne he planned to use his military experience and magical talent to make a name for himself as a mercenary and adventurer.
